Answers to common questions about making episodes, listening, sharing, and your account.

Make an episode

Type it, say it, or start in Studio.

Getting started

Sign in with Apple, Google, or your email address. With email, Pipod sends you a short code to confirm it’s you.

Tell Pipod what to call you, your language, and a few topics you’re curious about. Then make your first episode: ask for anything, or tap one of the suggestions.

Make a Quick Episode

Type or say what you want to hear about. Pipod reads your request, picks a style and language, and suggests hosts and a format that you can change before it starts.

When your request needs current or precise facts, Pipod can look things up on the web first. Episodes start playing within seconds, and you keep listening while the rest is made. To turn a Quick Episode into a series, save it as a podcast.

Create in Studio

Studio is for shows with their own name, hosts, and style. Create a podcast, then add episodes from a description, a document (PDF, TXT, or DOCX), or a link to a website, article, or video.

Choose a conversation between two hosts or a single host, then the vibe, language, length, depth, and ambience. Short episodes are quick to make; In-Depth episodes take a few minutes. You can review and edit the script before it’s voiced.

Listening

An episode can play while it’s still being made. Skipping ahead unlocks once it’s finished. Open the transcript to follow along, change the ambience, adjust the speed, or jump back and forward 10 seconds.

Download episodes to listen offline, and turn on Wi-Fi only downloads in Account Settings. Group episodes into collections in your library.

Languages

Episodes can be in English, Spanish, French, German, or Arabic. In a Quick Episode, Pipod follows the language of your request; in Studio and News Radar, you choose it. The app’s own language follows the one you picked when you joined, and you can change it in Settings.

News Radar

Ask for a briefing on any topic to hear it now, or set up a daily series to get a fresh briefing at the time you choose.

If three briefings in a row go unheard, the series pauses so they don’t pile up. Turn it back on whenever you like.

Sharing

Make an episode or a whole podcast public to share it by link. Anyone with the link can listen and read the transcript, in the app or a browser, and your name shows as the creator. A shared podcast includes its future episodes.

Stop sharing anytime and the link stops working. People who already saved a copy may still have it.

Credits and plans

Making episodes uses credits. A Short episode or a news briefing uses 1 credit, and an In-Depth episode uses 3. If an episode fails, or you cancel it before it starts playing, its credits come back.

See your plan and the credits you have left under Plans in the app. Credits refresh every month.

If something isn’t working

  • An episode failed: try again. Credits for failed episodes are returned automatically.
  • You’re offline: downloaded episodes still play. Making new episodes needs a connection.
  • The microphone doesn’t respond: allow microphone access for Pipod in your device’s Settings.
  • No notifications: turn on notifications for Pipod in your device’s Settings.
  • You can’t sign in: use the method you signed up with: Apple, Google, or email. If you still can’t get in, contact us from the email address on your account.
